General Manager

Snowboard Addiction is looking for a new General Manager starting at the beginning of November 2011. This is a year-round salaried position. The ideal candidate will be looking for a long-term career in the snowboard industry based in Whistler, Canada.
A Canadian work visa is required.
The main perk of this job is that you’ll be living in Whistler one of the best snowboard resorts in the world and have some flexibility with your work schedule to snowboard.
We’re looking for someone who loves to snowboard and wants to be heavily involved in the growth of a small company.
The General Manager is in charge of running Snowboard Addiction alongside Nev Lapwood. It involves all areas of running a business and includes an extremely large variety of tasks including:

Web Manager
We are also looking for a talented, full-time, technical Web Manager to oversee the continued development of our web and administration applications. Successful applicants will need to be able to demonstrate a history of commercial web application design and development and exposure to the full Agile project life cycle. The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of software design approaches, a clear understanding of web and system security issues and designing for optimised application performance. They will be at home in an ecommerce environment and be experience and comfortable working in a highly transactional open source environment. The role will require the individual to document, design and test software solutions, take lead roles in projects and contribute to internal development strategies.
We would anticipate that successful candidates will come from a software development background as opposed to a web site building background. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a fundamental understanding of software development and of Ruby in a Rails framework. The candidate will also be responsible for the company's production databases, and will need to demonstrate experience in working with sensitive datasets, implementing enterprise-class backup and security and creating well structured SQL.
Working in a predominantly Open Source development environment based on Ruby on Rails and also employing elements of the LAMP stack, particularly MySQL and Nginx. This is a growing business with a focus on delivering a state-of-the-art ecommerce environment and as such candidates should view the role as long term and progressive opportunity.
