A week or so ago, Jeff Boliba from Burton came to visit and he brought a truck load of toys. Most of these “toys” were for 3-7 year olds. We geared them up with special mini boots, boards, and bindings and set them loose on the Burton kids park which had been set up the night before.

The park had a flat ground loop/track for towing kids around, a mini-pipe, a bordercross type feature with a roller, a berm, and even a box. It was pretty sweet seeing these kids learning how
to snowboard by hitting features (Burton calls this terrain based learning). No rope tows or lifts, just grommets shredding it up.

Most of the boards had a special new technology called a riglet. Basically, its a retractable tow line so you can pull the kids around while they get a feel for sliding over the snow.

Check out this short promo vid and keep your eyes peeled for a longer more detailed version coming out in the near future.

Snowboard Addictions fearless leader Nev Lapwood set out to score some epic back-country pow.

Along for the ride was pro snowboarder Etienne Gilbert.

The snow was light and fluffy and the lines were unbelievable.

They tested out their latest gadget, check out the results below.

As you can see, they got some pretty sick footage.

The boys had nothing but good things to say about the new cam.
It was a breeze to operate and produced ridiculously good looking HD clips.
They can’t wait to take it out again and show you how Snowboard Addiction does it!

Our latest Sponsors hooked us up with a new snowboard rack for our sled. Read on to see our opinions.

What is a most annoying thing about going sledding in the back-country? It is for sure having to carry your board attached to your bag, or your back. Well our new sponsors are aiming to make the whole process a lot easier with their snowboard racks for sleds.

The CFR Snowboard Bracket System is the best and safest way to keep your snowboard out of the way while snowmobiling. Using the CFR snowboard bracket will make you will forget that you have your snowboard with you until you get to the top of your favorite snowboard line or jump spot and turn around. This package contains parts and hardware to carry one snowboard on D or Double D rack. Another snowboard bracket system can be purchased to carry up to two snowboards on D or Double D rack.

Source: http://cheetahfactoryracing.com/snowboardbracket

CFR installed one of their racks on our sled recently and just last week Nev took it out for a spin with Braden on Rainbow Mountain in whistler. Check out this video that they put togther while riding:

After going for a ride and using the snowboard bracket Nev confirms that it is totally sick. Any sled rider could do no better than to get set up with one of these amazing racks.

Check out these photos of CFR owner Dave Basterrechea installing our sled rack for us:

Nev Recently made the trip to Denver for the SIA Trade Show 2010. Read on to see what resulted from the trip!

The tradeshow trip turned out to be a huge success for Snowboard Addiction. We went down there to scope out industry interest in what we are doing and are trying to achieve here, and feedback has been 100% positive.

The biggest news from the show is that Burton have brought themselves heavily on board for yet another season with us. They are very happy with what we have been doing and are very excited about supporting us even more this year. This is great news for us because it means we will definitely be making a load more videos this season for you guys.

Lots of other companies have told us how great they think our stuff is as a result of the show. So hopefully we will be posting more news in the coming weeks regarding new sponsors for Snowboard Addiction.

A short word has to go out to ‘GoPro‘ as they have hooked us up with a new helmet/multi mount HD camera for shooting our videos, but we’ll leave that for another blog post soon.

The new material we are planning on producing is:

Butters/flatland Tricks

How to Ride Powder

Board Set-Up

New Learn to Ride Program

Hope you guys are as excited as we are!

Two days ago our SA Owner Nev took out his new sled onto Rainbow Mountain in Whistler. See this short video that Nev and SA-Coach Braden made while there.

I went out sledding on Friday for the first time this season for a “fun day” up Rainbow and to get all the bugs worked out before getting into sledding again full on. Unfortunately certain members in the group were less experienced then others and the day began with a snowmobile sending itself down a creek bed and into a deep ravine over 1500′ below any form of trail and into an extremely steep and DEEP area which took almost 7 hours of digging and breaking trail to get out of. The day ended with a long descent back to the trucks in the dark.

We woke up the next morning to find it completely bluebird in Whistler and quickly decided that there was no way that our day could be nearly as frustrating as the day previous. We were right, we shuttled a nice steep powder face for a couple hours, ate lunch on the top of a ridge with a beautiful view of Whistler/Blackcomb and made it down while it was still light out.
Nev is a regular in Whistler’s ‘Fire & Ice’ show every year these days. Jumping through rings of fire on his board to entertain the watching tourists and locals at the foot of Whistler mountain. For any of our local readers, if you haven’t caught the show before, you should definately check it out one Sunday. It sure is an impressive show.

Moving on. We were flipping through the latest ‘British Columbia’ magazine here in the SA Offices and came across a piece on the ‘Fire & Ice’ show. The picture for this piece turns out to be of our company Director, Nev! Pretty random. See the picture below (click on it to see it full size):
